Reporting to the DPW RTF Foreman and serving as part of an integrated Public Works operation, the RTF HEO will perform semi-skilled manual work in operating heavy equipment used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of public works projects or facilities. Work includes the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles.
Requirements: The position requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent in experience, and a minimum of and two (2) years of advanced technical/vocational training and experience in the operation of heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
We prefer candidates to hold a valid Class A CDL driver’s license along with a Hoisting Engineer’s 2B. As well as a 4E and 4G License. We encourage applicants that are interested in obtaining these licenses to apply and require all employees to get licensed within the one-year probationary period.
A valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate is mandatory. Knowledge of departmental operations and safe and effective heavy equipment operation techniques and practices is preferred.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is 40-hours per week. Regular attendance from Wednesdays – Sundays is required.
Salary: $25.21 per hour; Cohasset offers a comprehensive benefits package.
